Registration Site Guide

Sign Up for the Race!

1. Go to https://team.support.vcu.edu/MovinShakin5k
2. Click the "Register" section in the middle of the page and enter your name, email, and a password to create your account.
3. A rectangular form that reads "Getting Started; RSVP for Movin' & Shakin' 5K" will appear. Fill out the form and then click "RSVP Now."
4. In the next box, enter your name and payment card information, and add a donation dollar amount if you would like, then click "Pay Now."
5. Now you're registered for the 5K!
-If need to access the registration form in the future, it will be on your MyHQ page* at the "RSVP for the Movin' and Shakin' 5K" link in the column on the righthand side of the page.
 
Create or Join a Team!
  1. Once you’ve registered for the 5K at https://team.support.vcu.edu/MovinShakin5k/, ensure you are signed into your account. If you are not signed in, you will see a “Sign In” grey box at the top right of the page. If you are signed in, you will instead see your name in that grey box.
  2. When you are signed in, click your name in the grey box and select “My HQ”* from the small dropdown menu.
  3. In the right-hand column on your HQ page, you should see a list of links under the text “For an effective campaign, you should:”
  4. Click “Create or join a team”
  5. To create a new team, click the circle next to “Start a new team” and enter your team name and fundraising goal. Click “Create Team.” It may take a while for the system to create your team, but do not be alarmed if it takes several minutes to move to the next screen. To join an existing team, type the name of the team in the “Search for a team” box. Click the team name as it appears in the search dropdown. If you chose to create a team, skip to step 7. If you chose to join an existing team, follow the next steps.
 
  1. If you selected to join an existing team: once you have selected the team from the search dropdown, click the grey “Join” button to confirm your team membership. Now, follow step 7 to invite more team members to your cause!
  2. In the Team Builder box in the middle of the page, you will see a message that you can send to recruit your team members. To customize the message, type additional sentences into the “Your message here” box. Type the email address of the person you would like to recruit in the “Email” box and click “Send Email.” Repeat until you have invited everyone you would like to invite, then click “Done Inviting. ”Below is an example of what your message will look like (with your name instead of Eliza’s, of course).

Known Issues:
-In some browsers, an old version of the site is cached and preventing our updated information from appearing. To pull up the correct version of the site, go to your browser and clear your cache/browsing data and reload the website, or use an incognito/private browser window to access the site. To clear up any confusion, the 5K date is April 7, 2018.

-In some browsers/devices, there appears to be a blank dark screen when one tries to access the registration form. If this happens, scroll down in the browser and you will find the registration form.
